This week I made a quick trip to northwest OH to shoot Family W. Take a look at these adorable kiddos - you can imagine the fun we had! . . . were married Saturday, October 25, at the Northside Fellowship Church in Westerville, OH. Steve is a friend of ours, so naturally it was great to meet his new then-fiance several months ago and be asked to shoot their wedding. Elisa's elegant taste in decor was evident at both the wedding and reception, and her own personal sense of style was plain in the gorgeous wedding gown she chose. Steve chose a great bunch of guys to be part of the wedding, and we had a blast spending the day with them.
Last Friday, Family M came to the studio for a portrait session - and these two little girls couldn't have been cuter! Mom and Dad M share my passion for black and white portraits, so I thought it fitting to save all the color images for their proofing session - and post some of my favorite black-and-whites here. . . . were married Saturday, October 18, at The Venue at Smith Brothers in Columbus, OH. We began at The Westin with a First Glance session in one of the beautiful balconies there. After shooting family formals in the extravagant vestibule of the hotel, we moved on to Schiller Park in German Village for a pre-ceremony photo session with the bride and groom.
There was no shortage of special events at this wedding! The first was when the groom had an accidental kiss-on-the-lips with the mother of the bride! The next was the episode of the missing rings during the ceremony, followed by the floating unity candle that refused to be lit. And nearer the end of the night, one of the wedding guests actually ripped the seat of his pants while dancing! In spite of it all, Andrew and Jo's incredible sense of humor carried them through the night, and we couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more. This is one fantastic couple. . . . and son, Armario, met me at Creekside Gahanna late last week for a family photo session. We're shooting Johnel and Bernardo's wedding in 2009, and in place of an engagement session, we included the handsome little guy you see in these photos, and made it a fun family session. They have some exciting plans for their 09 wedding, so I'm eager - and thankful - to be part of it. Plus, I can't wait to see this little dude in a tuxedo!!
. . . another fabulous couple whose wedding we're planning to shoot in 2009! We met in The Short North this past Tuesday morning, grabbed a cup of coffee and started shooting right there in Starbucks! After a casual photo walk through the area, we made our way to Inniswood Gardens in Westerville, OH and grabbed some great shots with the gorgeous autumn colors we're all enjoying right now.
. . . are engaged to be married in 2009! We were excited to shoot their engagement session at beautiful Inniswood Gardens just outside Columbus, near Westerville, OH. The timing of this shoot couldn't have been better. The autumn color we're all enjoying right now made for a great session, and Inniswood Gardens is one incredible place to shoot in this time of year.

. . . were married, Saturday, October 4th, at the historic Bryn Du Mansion in Granville, OH. The weather couldn't have been better, so we had plenty of time to shoot outdoors and take advantage of the golden-hour light just after the wedding. The details of the wedding decor and design were exceptional, and the wedding party was an absolute pleasure to work with.

. . . are from North Carolina, and met us in downtown Columbus last weekend for their engagement session. I love how laid-back this couple is, and how much they enjoy each other. After just a couple of shots, I knew it was going to be an easy session. We're super excited about shooting their wedding next summer!

I just shot one of my favorite family sessions from this fall. With the combination of the cool vibe of Northville, MI and this great family - we couldn't go wrong! After a seriously rain-soaked weekend, we were afraid we'd have to call the whole thing off. But thankfully, the skies opened up just long enough for us to shoot. And I couldn't be more pleased with the results.
Ryan Koral from Epic Motion was there to shoot video of the session. Epic Motion was voted best in Detroit for 2008! We're excited to work with them in an upcoming December wedding in the Detroit area.
